The NCCAOM is governed by the Chief Executive Officer and ten Commissioners who are voted into office by general election. In approving nominations, the Nominating Committee considers diversity in ethnicity, gender, geographic distribution, professional experience, education and school of thought within the profession.

Susan A. Chapman

Ph.D., R.N.

Susan A. Chapman, Ph.D., R.N. joined the NCCAOM Board in 2007.  She is currently the Director of the Allied Health Care Workforce Program at the UCSF Center for the Health Professions and Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the School of Nursing. Susan received her BSN from the University of Iowa, an MSN from Boston College, an MPH from Boston University, and PhD in Health Services and Policy Analysis from UC Berkeley.  Susan currently chairs the Commission’s Research Taskforce and Job Task Analysis Workforce Subgroup.   She is a member of the Governance Documents Committee.
