Board of Commissioners

The NCCAOM is governed by the Chief Executive Officer and ten Commissioners who are voted into office by general election. In approving nominations, the Nominating Committee considers diversity in ethnicity, gender, geographic distribution, professional experience, education and school of thought within the profession.

Jonathan Daniel

Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H. (NCCAOM)

Jonathan Daniel, Dipl. Ac., Dipl. C.H. (NCCAOM) earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry, Biological Sciences and Psychology from University of California Berkeley in 1969. He attended graduate school at San Francisco State College for two years in Experimental Psychology. He earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College in 1977, and earned his Master of Science degree in Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1992. He has a familiarity with 9 different languages and has been in private practice for 29 years. He has practiced in California, Oregon, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Israel, where he worked in the clinic of the Vegetarians and Vegan's Movement in Tel Aviv for ten years. Jonathan was a Board Member of the Acupuncture Society of New York for five years and has been a member of the NCCAOM Acupuncture Examination Development Committee since 1998 and has also been a member of the Biomedicine Examination Development Committee since 2003. He has worked with the NCCAOM since 1993, serving as a proctor for the Point Location examination before becoming a member of the Examination Development committees. He has been an instructor and Clinical Supervisor at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York since it began in 1993. He has been studying Homeopathy through the British Institute of Homeopathy for the past five years, and is a Fellow of the British Institute of Homeopathy. Dr. Daniel currently serves as the Chair of the Acupuncture Examination Development Committee and the Biomedicine Examination Development Committee for the NCCAOM Board of Commissioners.
