The NCCAOM is governed by the Chief Executive Officer and ten Commissioners who are voted into office by general election. In approving nominations, the Nominating Committee considers diversity in ethnicity, gender, geographic distribution, professional experience, education and school of thought within the profession.

Tess Hahn, L.Ac., OMD, Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM) currently practices Oriental Medicine near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Dr. Hahn earned her baccalaureate at California State University, and graduated from California Acupuncture College. After her clinical internship at the Institute of Traditional Medicine, Beijing, she practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in Germany until moving to California, where she practiced Oriental Medicine for several years. Hahn earned her OMD at SAMRA University and completed training in Acupuncture Orthopedics at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
An active member of the Idaho Acupuncture Association since 1991 and on the Idaho Board
of Acupuncture between 1999 and 2005, she also served as vice-president on the Federation of Acupuncture Regulatory Agencies (FAOMRA). In November 2005, she received a Commendation for Distinguished Public service from Idaho’s Governor.
Elected Commissioner on the NCCAOM beginning January 2006, Hahn participates on the Examination Development Committees (Foundations & Biomedicine modules) as well as on the Recertification and Finance Committees.
