Professional Development Activity (PDA)

PDA Search Engine

PDA Search Engine lists programs that have been reviewed by NCCAOM as Professional Development Activities. These programs are acceptable for Diplomates of the NCCAOM to use as part of their continuing education in Oriental medicine (i.e. may not be used toward initial certification with the NCCAOM). This list will be updated as frequently as possible. Please contact the provider for specific program information.

PDA Provider Programs

The NCCAOM offers a review service to providers of professional development coursework that is marketed to NCCAOM Diplomates seeking formal Professional Development Activity (PDA) opportunities that will satisfy NCCAOM’s recertification requirements.

NCCAOM does not accredit or certify institutions or individuals who provide continuing educational experiences, but will perform preliminary screening reviews as to whether a course would be acceptable when submitted by a Diplomate seeking NCCAOM recertification. For further inquiries, please contact the PDA Department via email: PDA@nccaom.org.

To become a PDA Provider, the following PDA Provider Application must be completed and submitted with your resume and the one-time application fee of $100.

To submit a course, seminar or conference for review, the following PDA Program Review Application must be completed and submitted with the required documents and review fee.

Recertification

Diplomates are responsible for renewing their certification every four years and are expected to maintain their status by participating in Professional Development Activities (PDAs). Submitting your completed Recertification Application 60 days prior to your expiration date will ensure processing in a timely manner and avoid going into lapsed status. Upon approval, NCCAOM will send you a new wallet-sized ID card attached to a congratulatory letter and a wall mountable certificate good for another four years.
