AOM Day Initiatives with Modern Acupuncture

  • To support National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day, NCCAOM and Echo Media Group continued their collaboration with Adi Korman and Lindsay St. Clair of Modern Acupuncture. A joint press release was developed, reviewed and approved by the three organizations.

Natural Awakenings Dallas Metroplex Magazine

  • Echo supported media relations efforts concerning Natural Awakenings Dallas Metroplex Magazine as the publication was coordinating a feature on NCCAOM and National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day in its October issue.

AOM Day Media Relations

  • Media lists were curated to support media relations efforts for AOM Day. Echo created regional media lists including broadcast, print and online outlets that may be interested in coordinating a segment for AOM Day with a local NCCAOM Nationally Board-Certified Acupuncturists.

AOM Day Initiatives with Modern Acupuncture

  • To prepare for National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day, NCCAOM and Echo Media Group began collaborating with Adi Korman and Lindsay St. Clair of Modern Acupuncture. By joining forces, the three organizations will be working towards elevating acupuncture as a whole and increasing the brand recognition and awareness of both NCCAOM and Modern Acupuncture.

NCCAOM Practice Tests Facebook Campaign

  • A Facebook ad campaign was developed with the goal of driving traffic to NCCAOM Practice Test web pages. This campaign targeted applicants for certification who still have to take one or more National Board Exams and was completed in August. A recap of results will be included in the September recap.

NCCAOM® Offers New, Time-Limited Route for Oriental Medicine Certification in California

  • A press release to announce a new route for Oriental medicine certification in California was distributed to national media outlets an d on a wire distribution service.

NCCAOM Practice Tests Facebook Campaign

  • A Facebook ad campaign was developed with the goal of driving traffic to NCCAOM Practice Test web pages. This campaign will run for eight weeks targeting applicants for certification who still have to take one or more National Board Exams.

NCCAOM Recruits SmithBucklin Press Release

  • The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)® has retained John Richardson, Director, Government Relations and Health Care Practice Group at SmithBucklin to provide federal advocacy services, further enabling the ability of the 36-year-old organization to work with U.S. policymakers and regulators. The partnership is producing a three-pronged strategy to build awareness of acupuncture services as a mainstream, evidence-based approach for pain management while expanding patient access to nationally certified acupuncturists and advocating on behalf of NCCAOM National Board-Certified Acupuncturists™.

NCCAOM Featured in the Washington Post and Goop

  • NCCAOM was mentioned in two major media outlets encouraging consumers to visit the NCCAOM site to find a certified practitioner.

Syndicated Article Distribution Project

  • A syndicated news article addressing the topic of opioid abuse and chronic pain and how NCCAOM and acupuncture can help was developed. The goal of the article is to increase the amount of times the term   “NCCAOM nationally board-certified practitioners” appears in news articles and drive consumers who are interested in finding a certified acupuncturist to the NCCAOM website. The article is scheduled to be distributed in August.

Echo focused its targeting on people with interests in acupuncture, holistic healing, alternative medicine, chronic pain and other related topics.

Getting to the Point Documentary

  • Echo distributed a joint press release on behalf of NCCAOM and ANF announcing the release of a new documentary, “Getting to the Point,” exploring the role of acupuncture in the treatment of cancer victims. Echo pitched health and wellness reporters from blogs, print publications, broadcast and radio shows. Echo coordinated a radio interview in Texas and a CBS TV interview in Ohio.

Interview with the People’s Rx – Let’s Get Healthy

  • In mid-May, Echo collaborated with Matthew Bauer of ANF to coordinate an interview that discussed the Getting to the Point documentary. The interview provides a great mention of NCCAM and officially aired in May.

  • Echo launched a Facebook campaign with the goal of during traffic to the “Find a Practitioner” page on NCCAOM’s website using two ad campaigns testing different images with the same copy. Acupuncturists Included in the Veterans Administration

  • Recently, the Veterans Administration announced that acupuncturists are allowed to work within the Veterans Administration and that a NCCAOM certificate is a requirement when treating veterans. To leverage this industry news, NCCAOM distributed a press release on a wire service nationally and conducted media outreach for potential coverage.

Getting to the Point Documentary

  • Echo attended the film screening of “Getting to the Point” which was co-produced and directed by Doug Dearth (also the producer of the documentary 9000 Needles) and the ANF. NCCAOM was a sponsor of the film. The new documentary explores the role of acupuncture in the treatment of cancer victims. Echo created a media advisory and invited local media to attend and cover the story. Echo will continue to pitch the documentary into May and distribute a joint press release on behalf of NCCAOM and ANF.

  • Echo reached out to WebMD to make sure NCCAOM is referenced as a source to find a NCCAOM National Board-certified Acupuncturists in all articles relating to Acupuncture.

  • Recently, the Veterans Administration announced that acupuncturists are allowed to work within the Veterans Administration and that a NCCAOM certificate is a requirement when treating veterans. To leverage this industry news, NCCAOM distributed a press release on a wire service nationally.

Interview with Medill Reports Chicago

  • On behalf NCCAOM and OAAOM, Echo followed up on a radio segment and article published by WKSU News to seek a revision that fully explains the implementation of acupuncture into the Ohio state Medicaid program.

Interview with KBOO Healthwatch

  • Echo coordinated an interview between Ellen Goldsmith of KBOO Healthwatch and Dr. Iman Majd that discussed the role of acupuncture in the treatment of opioid addiction and the treatment of pain and the new role for acupuncturists in the Veterans Administration.

Interview Opportunity with CBS 3 Philadelphia

  • NCCAOM received interest from a CBS 3 Philadelphia reporter to interview NCCAOM and create a story that discussed acupuncture treatment for veterans. Echo coordinated with James Walker of Won Institute to locate interview participants. However, the interview did not take place because the reporter was primarily interested in interviewing a veteran who can openly express experience with addition and acupuncture treatment.

Board Meeting Presentation

  • To prepare for a NCCAOM board presentation, Echo developed a full year report of media coverage NCCAOM garnered in 2017. Also included in the presentation were reports of social media campaigns that ran within the year.

AcuEd Day Media Advisory/Press Release Editing/Pitching

  • On behalf of NCCAOM, Echo collaborated with FSOMA on press materials supporting the organization’s Acupuncture Education Day, which was held at the Florida state capital.
  • Echo developed and distributed a media advisory inviting media outlets in Florida to learn more about the AcuEd Day by attending or covering the event.
