February 2011

The NCCAOM Board of Commissioners, staff and I are delighted to announce the launch of our new NCCAOM website. The vision was to create an attractive and user-friendly portal for Diplomates, candidates and the public to easily access information about NCCAOM Diplomates, NCCAOM certification programs and the acupuncture and Oriental medicine profession.
To realize this vision, the NCCAOM staff worked to improve its database of constituents and online capabilities. The NCCAOM is pleased to announce that as of February, 2011 all NCCAOM applicants, candidates and Diplomates will have secure direct access to their NCCAOMapplication status, certification status, exam results and all other information relating to the certification process. Diplomates will also be able to update their contact information as it changes, and have a choice of being listed in NCCAOM’s Find a Practitionerdirectory. – As part of the inauguration of the new website, the NCCAOM offers an online application process for new applicants. The NCCAOM is also developing an online recertification application and process that will launch later in 2011. Other enhancements include:

  • Overall improved accessibility of information
  • User-friendly navigation with easier access to forms such as exam preparation materials and documents which are in high demand
  • Specialized pages for Diplomates, applicants, Professional Development Activity (PDA) providers and consumers
  • Easy access to pertinent information and forms via “Quick Finds” and “Resources” menus
  • PDA Search Engine with more robust and enhanced search features

We have added dedicated pages that promote all the NCCAOM certification programs. The consumer section will provide information on the value of seeking an NCCAOM certified Diplomate. These pages will also directly link to the new and improved NCCAOM Find a Practitioner directory. – The NCCAOM PDA Search Engine serves as the only international database of approved continuing education programs in the AOM profession. The new PDA page also serves as the vehicle to brand our new NCCAOM PDA Logo which is the service mark that designates a PDA course is approved by the NCCAOM. The logo provides instant recognition of the NCCAOM seal of approval which promotes the PDA programs. – It is my hope that you are as excited about these new features as I am. More content will be available in the coming months; so keep an eye on us at www.nccaom.org. If you have suggestions or comments about our new website please do not hesitate to contact me online.
