JACKSONVILLE, FL & PHILADELPHIA, PA, March 30, 2017 – The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®), the only national certification agency for the profession of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, has selected International Consultants of Delaware (ICD) to exclusively perform academic credential validations and assessments for NCCAOM Certification applicants who were educated outside the United States.

“We are pleased to work with International Consultants of Delaware and benefit from their extensive experience in credentials evaluations,” said Kory Ward-Cook, Ph.D., MT(ASCP), CAE, NCCAOM Chief Executive Officer. “Their reports will provide additional information allowing us to better evaluate the academic credentials of our applicants.”

“It is a privilege to work with an outstanding organization like NCCAOM,” said Franklin A. Shaffer, EdD, RN, FAAN, FFNMRCSI, President and Chief Executive Officer of CGFNS International, Inc., parent organization of ICD. “We look forward to serving NCCAOM and providing exceptional service for the applicants.”

NCCAOM Certification is an important professional competence recognized by regulatory bodies, third-party payers, the profession and the public. Certification or a passing score on the NCCAOM certification examinations are documentation of competency for licensure as an acupuncturist by 45 states including the District of Columbia, representing 98 percent of the states that regulate acupuncture.

As part of the exclusive agreement, ICD will evaluate post-secondary (tertiary) academic records and transcripts to ensure international applicants meet the NCCAOM eligibility requirements for certification.
