US – UK EDUCATIONAL CROSSWALK

The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®), in collaboration with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB), and CGFNS International, is proud to announce a simplified education evaluation process for British acupuncturists as a pre-requisite to achieving NCCAOM certification.
This enhanced verification process leverages the robust Standards of Education and Training for Acupuncture (SETA) established by the BAAB, which are required for BAcC membership. A comprehensive educational crosswalk comparing the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) standards with the SETA standards was conducted by CGFNS International, with support from a team of subject matter experts from both the U.S. and the U.K. This analysis confirmed that the standards are verifiable and substantially equivalent, paving the way for a more efficient credential evaluation process.
Streamlined Processing:
BAcC practitioner members in good standing can now verify their educational credentials directly with the NCCAOM, bypassing the course-by-course evaluation process through ICD. The education credential evaluation process takes less than two weeks once all required documents are received by the NCCAOM staff and costs $350.
Upon approval of the credential verification, applicants may proceed with their NCCAOM certification application and schedule their certification examinations.
This collaborative initiative reflects a shared commitment to high standards of practice and global accessibility for acupuncture professionals.
